Xcite’s Split Air Conditioner Buying Guide

Choosing the perfect air conditioner (AC) for your home can feel overwhelming with Xcite's vast selection. This guide simplifies the process! We'll walk you through selecting the ideal BTU range for your room size, key factors to consider before your purchase, and how to prepare your space for our delivery and installation team.

1. Which air conditioner BTU range should I consider for my room?

BTUs measure an air conditioner's cooling power. The higher the BTUs, the larger the space it can cool. It's important to choose the right BTU size to avoid inefficiency. T1 and T4 refer to the operating temperature range. T1 is the ideal cool temperature, while T4 is the maximum hot temperature. Choose an AC with a T4 rating suitable for your hottest days.

3. How do I prepare the room for the delivery & installation team?

To ensure a smooth installation process, here's how you can prepare your room for the Xcite delivery & installation team

Before Delivery:

  • Clear the installation area: Remove any furniture, electronics, or decorations that might be in the way of the installation team. This includes the area around the window (for window AC units) or the wall where the indoor unit will be mounted (for split AC units).
  • Clear a path for access: Ensure there's a clear path from the entrance to the installation site to allow the team to easily carry the AC unit and tools.
  • Protect your belongings: Consider covering valuable furniture or electronics with dust sheets to minimize dust and debris.

Electrical Requirements:

  • Check the power outlet: As mentioned earlier, ensure there's a properly functioning electrical outlet within 1.5 meters of the designated indoor unit location. Refer to the Terms & Conditions (point i) for specific power requirements based on BTU.

Outdoor Unit Considerations:

  • Clearance around the outdoor unit: If the outdoor unit is being installed on the ground, make sure there's at least 50cm of clearance around the unit for proper airflow.
  • Accessibility for future maintenance: Remember, the outdoor unit will require occasional maintenance. Ensure there's enough space around it to allow the technician easy access in the future.

Additional Tips:

  • Inform the team of any special considerations: If there are any special instructions or access limitations related to your home, be sure to inform Xcite at the time of booking the installation.
